Galaxy Alpha to Launch Next Week?

We’ve been hearing rumours about Samsung’s upcoming smartphone, the Galaxy Alpha, for a while now, some of which included the mid-August launch date. However, according to SamMobile, the device will officially be revealed next week – on August 4, to be exact.

The handset is expected to come with a metal frame, like we saw in a couple of leaked photos, and it’s the first Android phone from Samsung to come with a metallic construction. The phone should also sport a 4.8in HD display (resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels) and a quad-core Snapdragon 800 processor, though this remains to be seen.

Other specifications include 2GB of RAM and 32GB of built-in storage, which you won’t be able to expand, because there won’t be a microSD card slot, as well as a fingerprint scanner. Samsung may also launch a couple of different versions of the handset, if the leaked images are anything to go by – in one, the handset sports an LTE-A logo.

As soon as we’ve got more information about the Alpha, we’ll let you know.
