“Slim is better” seems to be the trend among tech gadgets nowadays – just look at all the flat screen TVs, tablets, and smartphones available on the market. At this moment, the Gionee Elife S5.1 is the thinnest smartphone out there, and it also recently received the proper documentation that confirms this, thanks to the Guinness World Records.
The Gionee Elife S5.1 is only 5.1mm wide, and comes with a 4.8” Super AMOLED display and a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. Other specs include a quad-core Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM, 16GB of built-in storage, an 8-megapixel rear camera, a 5-megapixel wide-angle front camera, and a 2,100mAh battery.
This slim handset still remains available in China only, and we can’t be sure when and if it’s going to hit other world markets.
Do you think that the Gionee Elife S5.1 will stay on top of the thin list for long? We believe so, because most smartphones these days come with better specs, meaning more powerful hardware, which translates into bulkier handsets. We’ll just have to wait and see who’ll take the Elife’s place in the future.
