Another day, another phone being teased. This time it’s the Huawei Honor 7, whose potential release date could be the 30th of June. While none of the specs are officially confirmed yet, the one that’s so far causing the most commotion and excitement is the alleged inclusion of a fingerprint sensor.
The Fingerprint Sensor Era
Both the fingerprint sensor and the release date rumours were initiated when a leaked photo of the Honor 7 smartphone included a fingerprint and the numbers 6.30 written underneath the image. With the recent launch of Android Pay, fingerprint scanners have become a real possibility for all Android phones. Huawei perhaps even more so as one of its previous models, the Ascend Mate 7, which was launched in October 2014, had one beneath the camera lens on the rear panel.
Other Notable Honor 7 Specs
Apart from the fingerprint sensor, other alleged Honor 7 specs include a 5-inch screen with a 1080p resolution, a 64-bit Kirin 935 octa-core processor chip with either 3GB or 4GB RAM and the internal storage of 16GB or, if we’re talking premium version, 64GB RAM. The camera is said to have 13 megapixels with autofocus and dual-LED flash, along with geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and HDR. Furthermore, the Honor 7 battery should pack a staggering 3280mAh.
While the Huawei Honor 7 will undoubtedly be launched in China, there’s a possibility Europe and other continents will witness its release too. That is, if we’re to judge by the fact that the Honor 6 was released in the UK and other parts of the world, as well.
