We’ve seen a number of leaks of the upcoming Motorola Droid Turbo over the past few weeks, but recently we got our first true glimpse at the phone. Verizon’s official twitter account (@DroidLanding) posted an image of the red Motorola, which is set for an October/November release. However, the image was almost instantly deleted, meaning that someone probably accidentally shared the press shot ahead of schedule.
While up on Twitter, the image gave us a good look at the back of the Droid Turbo, and its large camera lens. The red Ferrari paintjob does look great, and based on the rumours we’ve heard so far, this handset could come with some high-end specs.
A user manual that surfaced online provided us with some details about the Droid Turbo. The phone will most likely come with a 5.2” 2560 x 1440 QHD display, a powerful quad-core processor (hence the name ‘Turbo’), and a 21-megapixel camera with dual LED flash. Not only that, but the device will also boast the Qualcomm Snapdragon Quick Charge 2.0 technology, which, when powered with the Motorola Turbo charger, can provide 8 hours of battery life in only 30 minutes. Other specs include water and dust resistance, and Android 4.4.4 KitKat.
Although we’re yet to find out the exact announcement and release date for the Motorola Droid Turbo, our guess is that we won’t have to wait long if this press shot managed to find its way online.
