When you were a kid, you probably loved messing around in Microsoft Paint or similar programs on your Mom or Dad’s computer, and perhaps when you grew up, you continued to do so in more advanced painting and drawing programs.
The technology continued to develop, and now, with virtual reality headsets becoming more and more popular, it’s only natural that a program will appear that will let you draw and paint in virtual reality. Skillman & Hackett (a San Francisco interactive design studio) created this awesome app called Tilt Brush that lets you paint in three different dimensions.
The app was created for Oculus Rift and it allows you to adjust the angle of your canvas, and paint with some awesome materials, such as light, stars, and smoke. You can then share your work as a GIF. Pretty cool, don’t you agree? It’s just a prototype for now, but according to The Verge, the full version of the app should be ready in time for the public release of Oculus Rift (summer 2015).
The Tilt Brush app already won a Proto Award (for excellence in virtual reality) for the best GUI (Graphical User Interface), and it’s creators say that they will try to make it available for as many platforms as possible. You can check out the preview video below.
