The Sony Xperia Z3+ Release Date Revealed

Mark your calendars—the Sony Xperia Z3+ smartphone, which was announced last Autumn and renamed from Z4 to Z3+ in various countries just recently, finally has a release date: the 15th of June. The long-awaited device is a smoother, slimmer and lighter upgrade of the 2014 flagship, with a more impressive front camera and a remarkably long-lasting battery.

The New and Improved Xperia Z3+

With its familiarly elegant design (now in four different colours, including black, white, copper and aqua green), the Z3+ will boast a 5.2-inch display with a full HD resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels, powered by the super fast Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 octa-core 64-bit processor. This waterproof and dust-tight device will be 6.9 millimeters thick and weigh 144g, while the main camera at its 20.7 megapixels and the improved front 5.1-megapixel camera will allow for supreme quality photos and clearer videos even in dimmer light.

Premium Battery Life

Like its predecessor, the upcoming Xperia phone will sport 3GB of RAM. As for the built-in storage room, the handset will be equipped with 32GB and a microSD card slot supporting up to 128GB. Moreover, Sony claims that with its significantly improved stamina, the notably smaller battery—which shrunk from 3,100mAh to 2,900mAh—will manage to last up to two whole days.

The company hasn’t yet officially announced the exact price of the upcoming Z3+ phone, except that the “pricing will reflect the premium quality of the phone”, so all we can do for now is be patient just a little while longer and see what that statement will truly mean.
