We’ve been hearing rumours and news about the upcoming 4-inch iPhone (the iPhone 5SE – special edition) for months now and we are really looking forward to seeing what Apple has prepared for us this time around. However, recently another rumour found its way online and it mentions a new 9.7-inch iPad Air.
The iPad Air 3 to Launch Alongside the 4-inch iPhone
According to a report by 9to5Mac, the Cupertino giant will announce the iPad Air 3 (we believe this is what it will be called) in March, at the same time as the iPhone 5SE. There is no exact release date yet, but we did learn that we’ll probably get to see new Apple Watch models at the event, too.
Like we mentioned above, the talked-about iPad Air 3 will sport a 9.7-inch display, just like the iPad Air 2, and will probably boast improved sound quality, Apple Pencil support, and a 4K resolution. The last bit of information was confirmed by Digitimes not too long ago, who quoted one of Apple’s chain supply sources, confirming that the iPad Air 3 will indeed arrive in March, with 4GB of RAM and a better battery. Of course, any of this remains to be confirmed by Apple, so our advice is to take this info lightly.
While the prospect of a new iPad Air sounds exciting, the star of Apple’s March show will still be the new, smaller iPhone. Again, thanks to 9to5Mac, we’ve learned that the handset will have a curved glass display, the Live Photos feature, Apple’s A8 chip, an 8-megapixel camera, NFC, and Apple Pay. Naturally, just like in the past, Apple will also release an iOS update during the event – iOS 9.3, along with WatchOS 2.2.
As soon as we have more details on Apple’s new devices, we will let you know. Until then, tell us – are you looking forward to the March event?
