A couple of days ago, we saw leaked images of what we thought was a new smartphone by Sony. Turns out, it’s not a smartphone, but a unique-looking camera specifically designed for taking selfies. Sony officially unveiled its new gadget last Friday, which will launch in Asia-Pacific countries this October.
The Cybershot DSC-KW11 will come with a 19.2-megapixel Exmor RS CMOS sensor, and you’ll be able to rotate the camera’s head 180 degrees, which will (according to Sony) give “the illusion of a slender body and a slimmer face for convenient and easy selfie shots”. It will feature a 21mm f/2 lens, and interestingly enough, the Cybershot looks like a perfume bottle. Other specs include a 3.3 OLED display, as well as Wi-Fi and NFC connectivity options, which will make sharing your selfies more easy. The camera measures 57.7 x 125 x 20.1mm, weighs 136 grams (with the battery), and sports a microSD card slot.
The camera will be available in pink, green, violet and white, and Sony’s yet to announce the whether or not it will launch in Europe and the US. The Cybershot DSC-KW11 has been priced at CNY 5199, which roughly translates into 640 euros.
