Taking a screenshot on an Android device is easy, but the process can differ slightly from a device to a device. So before you proceed, check which version of Android your tablet or smartphone is running. Today we’ll show you how to take a screenshot if your device is running Ice Cream Sandwich, Jelly Bean or KitKat.
The easiest way to take a screenshot on Android running ICS 4.0 and above is to press and hold the Power and Volume Down buttons together for about one to two seconds. On some smartphones, such as the Galaxy S3, S4 and S5, you’ll need to hold down the Home button and the Volume Down button. If you’ve successfully taken a screenshot, you’ll hear a shutter noise and your screen will flash.
There’s another way of taking a screenshot on your Android device. On some devices, there’s a ‘Take screenshot’ option in the Power Off menu. To access it, press and hold down the power button for a couple of seconds until a list with power options appears. If the ‘Take a Screenshot’ option is available, it will be in there and all you need to do is tap on it.
That’s all there is to it.
